FORMER Vogue creative director Andre Leon Talley has died aged 73, his representatives have confirmed.
The “indomitable” fashion designer, journalist, and former Americas Next Top Model judge died on Tuesday, January 18, in New York.

The New York Post revealed last year that the pioneering Talley was embroiled in a legal battle to fight eviction from the mansion over a purported $500,000 he owned on rent for the home. Talley had said he didnt owe anything and that the mansion was his.

Talleys love for fashion was cultivated at an early age when he discovered Vogue magazine at his local library at the age of nine or 10.
At age 34 he joined Vogue in 1983, being appointed fashion news director under Anna Wintour.
He was promoted to creative director in 1988 and served until 1995.
Talley was instrumental in pushing for more African-American models to appear both in the magazine and on the runway of fashion shows.
Later he would be appointed editor-at-large.
