Taking to Instagram, the new talkTV host and The Sun columnist shared a snap of his delicious dinner with his 1.8million followers.

Dominating the photograph was Piers’ giant steak, surrounded by a salad garnish, huge field mushrooms and grilled tomatoes.

The dad-of-four, who was dining in The Scarsdale Tavern in London’s Kensington, opted for a side dish of chips and a bottle of 2012 Chateau Batailley Grand Cru wine.

Writing next to his mouth-watering post, Piers mused: “On#BlueMonday a lot of happiness-inducing red! Fabulous meal at my fabulous local pub.”

Fans were quick to comment on Piers photo, with one writing: “Well Deserved! Come And Rule Our TV Again.”

Another added: “You know exactly what to chose Mr Morgan!! Good to see you back!”

A third told him: “Looks absolutely gorgeous .”

Piers jetted into London on Saturday following a trip to the US, where he had visited his Beverly Hills villa.

The star is now preparing for the launch of talkTV, which will see him host his own primetime show.

TalkTV will offer a mix of news bulletins, sports and entertainment shows, current affairs, debate, opinion and documentaries.

Masterminded by Sun publisher News UK, it calls on the expertise of journalists and broadcasters from across the company’s well-known brands.

Meanwhile, Piers’ fans went wild on the weekend after he returned to breakfast TV after almost a year away.

Fresh from his transatlantic flight, the former Good Morning Britain star reviewed the papers on BBC’s new Sunday Morning show.

He even opened his appearance with a cheeky dig at GMB, which he quit after refusing to apologise for saying hedidn’t believe Meghan Markle.

Sun columnist Pierstold presenter Sophie Raworth: “I haven’t been on breakfast television for nearly a year.

“It feels weird but nice. And my one question for you is, ‘Am I allowed to have an opinion?’ Because that was the problem before’.”

Sophie replied: “Well, you’ve come to tell us about the papers.”
