ACTOR Morgan Stevens was found dead in his home after police were called to conduct a wellness check.
He was best known for appearing on Melrose Place, Fame and A Year in the Life.
According to TMZ, sources close to the actor said authorities were contacted after neighbors noted they hadn’t seen Morgan in a few days.
The actor was found in his kitchen, police confirmed to the outlet.
Foul play is not suspected.
The actor was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police suspect he died of natural causes.
Morgan was known for his roles on select shows, though he also made guest appearances on popular series’ during his career. He was featured in Murder, She Wrote, One Day at a Time and Walker, Texas Ranger.
His role on Walker, Texas Ranger was his last TV role.
Morgan made headlines in the 90s after he was at the center of an alleged police brutality incident.
He was arrested for an allege DUI at the time.
Morgan claimed he waited in his cell for 90 minutes.
At that point, he refused to give back the shirt he had been given, he claimed according to TMZ.
He alleged at the time that two jail employees then beat him more than two dozen times.
Morgan suffered a broken nose, fractured cheek, dislocated jaw and nerve damage.
He sued the jail and was awarded an out-of-court settlement.
